Frédéric Gilles was born in Paris, France from an Italian mother and a French father. The actor resides in Montreal, Canada and now has both nationalities.
In 2015 Frédéric hit the big screen in Guy Édoin’s most recent film Ville-Marie where he plays the role of film director, Robert alongside Monica Bellucci. On the small screen, Frédéric is Frank Bergman, a rich Swiss banker in the television series Yamaska.
Frédéric proves that he is also a character actor in: La Clé des possibles, a film directed by Patrice Sauvé in which he plays Charles Foucault, a professor with a degenerative disease, and also in the historical drama 15 février 1839 written and directed by the late Pierre Falardeau, where he is Charles Hindelang.
In the anglophone CBC series Intelligence shot in Vancouver, Frédéric is cast as the recurring guest star role of Daniel Boudreau. Another memorable performance is in the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival Grand Jury Prize winner Snow and Ashes directed by Charles-Olivier Michaud. Another notable moment in the actor’s career: Danny Glover invites Frédéric to New York to read all the French characters in the script Toussaint l’Ouverture” in front major producers and distributors.
This French-born actor has succeeded in transcending language barriers. He is just as comfortable working in his native Paris as he is in Canada, and in the US.
For the past few years Frederic has decided to share his passion of being an actor by teaching acting at l’Infusart, not only for personal development reasons but also for his great love of theatre.
